Thomas Jenkins

Thomas Jenkins returned to the sidelines at Leemon Field and McKendree University after spending a year at Missouri Southern State University.

With the Lions, he coached the tight end position and was the Co-Special Teams Coordinator. One of his players in Deontay Campbell, earned MIAA All-Conference Third Team honors for the 2024 Season.

Jenkins initially arrived at McKendree in January 2021 as the wide receivers graduate assistant coach and enters his third season in 2022 working with the receivers. Along with serving as McKendree's receivers coach, Jenkins also is the program's recruiting coordinator. 

In the spring season of 2020-21 and the 2021 season, Jenkins coached Jake Bachman to back-to-back First-Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conferelce honors. 

Before coming to McKendree, Jenkins worked with the University of Wyoming football program. He began his duties at Wyoming as a video assistant in the summer of 2016. In the 2016, the Cowboys claimed the Mountain West Mountain Division title and hosted the MWC Championship game before playing in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego, Calif. 

During the 2017, season, he served as a video and recruiting assistant. During that season, the Cowboys won the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise, Idaho, and in the summer of 2018, he was promoted to Assistant Video Coordinator and maintained his duties as a recruiting assistant. 

In 2019, Jenkins served as an assistant with the wide receivers and continued as a recruiting assistant. Additionally, he also assisted with the defensive scout team during that same season. That season, the Cowboys won the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl in Tucson, Ariz. 

Jenkins was then promoted in the summer of 2020 to Director of On-Campus Recruiting and Special Team Quality Control. In that role, he helped sign 18 prospects in the school's 2021 recruiting class, 17 of which were rated as 3-star prospects by 247 Sports.
