Biography

2016 SEASON: Earned honorable mention All-GLVC accolades for the second consecutive year...was 10th on the squad with 48 tackles, including 18 solos...matched a career-high with seven tackles against West Liberty on Sept. 10 and equaled that with seven stops versus Saint Joseph's on Oct. 15...collected seven tackles for loss, three of which came in the West Liberty contest...collected his lone sack of the year on Oct. 22 against Missouri S&T...added one forced fumble and two quarterback hurries.

2015 SEASON: Received honorable mention All-GLVC honors...appeared in all 10 games at nose guard...finished the year with 28 tackles, 15 of which were solos...notched a career-high seven tackles at home against Southwest Baptist on Oct. 3...recorded his lone quarterback sack of the season Oct. 31 against Lincoln...added 2 1/2 tackles for loss.

2014 SEASON: Played in all 11 games at defensive tackle, mostly in a reserve role...was credited with eight tackles, two of which were solos...had two stops each in three different contests (Sept. 4 against Ferris State, Oct. 11 at Indianapolis and Nov. 8 at Lincoln)...pick up half a sack in the Lincoln contest.

2013 SEASON: Was a redshirt for the Bearcats.

BEFORE McK: Played for former McKendree assistant coach Cameron Pettus at Belleville West High School...posted 69 tackles -- including 42 solos -- with one interception and one fumble recovery as a senior for the Maroons...was a first-team All-Conference and All-Area honoree...was part of a defensive unit that allowed just 6.8 points per game, which was tops in the conference.

PERSONAL: Is the son of Clarence and Betty Cherry.
