BEFORE McK: Played for former McKendree assistant coach Cameron Pettus at Belleville West High School...led team in tackles in each of his final three seasons...notched 110 tackles, including 17 for loss with three quarterback sacks, as a senior for the Maroons...also added six forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and one interception...had a career-best 116 tackles with seven for loss and four sacks as a junior at Belleville West...was a third-team All-Conference honoree as a junior and senior...grabbed All-Area accolades as a junior and senior...served as team captain as a junior and senior...named team Defensive Most Valuable Player following junior year.
