Baughman joined the McKendree University Men’s Basketball staff in 2026 as a Graduate Assistant Coach after spending four seasons with the men’s basketball program at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. During his time with the Salukis, Baughman worked under Head Coaches Bryan Mullins and Scott Nagy, serving his final three seasons as Head Student Manager while gaining extensive experience in the day-to-day operations of an NCAA Division I basketball program.
As Head Student Manager, Baughman worked closely with the SIU coaching staff and student-athletes in nearly every aspect of the program. His responsibilities included filming practices and games, assisting with practice preparation and equipment, supporting scouting and film operations, participating in on-court drills and player development, and traveling with the team. His four seasons in Carbondale provided Baughman the opportunity to learn under two coaching staffs while developing experience in basketball operations, film, practice organization, and player relationships. During his time at SIU, Baughman worked with four All-Missouri Valley Conference players, including three players who had professional overseas careers.
Alongside his work with Saluki Basketball, Baughman earned his Bachelor of Science in Secondary History Education with a coaching minor from Southern Illinois University. He also served as Chief of Staff for SIU’s Undergraduate Student Government, where he helped lead a team of student leaders and was involved in several campus initiatives. Prior to entering the college basketball landscape, Baughman was a four-year basketball player at Carbondale Community High School from 2018-22.
A native of Southern Illinois, Baughman joined Head Coach George Suggs’ staff at McKendree following his graduation from SIU and is currently pursuing his graduate degree at McKendree University.
