Caleb Batson begins his fourth season as a member of the McKendree University men’s basketball coaching staff. He joined the Bearcats’ staff as a student assistant coach in the fall of 2013. Since the beginning with the 2014-15 season, he assisted the program with on-the-floor coaching, scouting and video editing duties.
A native of Abingdon, Ill., Batson played basketball for four years at Abingdon High School. He helped the Commandos to three 20-win seasons during his career, and led the team in most offensive rebounds during his senior year.
Batson completed requirements for his bachelor’s degree in physical education with minors in coaching and sports psychology from McKendree in May 2014. Batson lives in Lebanon.
