Greg Walker will serve as a student assistant coach for the McKendree University men's basketball team. Walker joined the Bearcats' program as a coach in the fall of 2013.
Walker is no stranger to McKendree basketball as he is a former member of the Bearcats' junior varsity program. He transferred to McKendree from Missouri Baptist University, where he also played JV basketball for the Spartans.
During his high school playing days at Tower Grove Christian School, Walker helped lead the Tigers to a pair of Missouri Christian Schools Athletic Association state championships. He was an All-Conference performer at Tower Grove, and was a three-sport athlete for the Tigers as he also excelled in soccer and track and field.
As a senior, Walker was selected as the Best All-Around Male Student of his graduating class.
The St. Louis native plans to graduate from McKendree in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
