Biography

2014-15 SEASON: Played in 19 games with one start that came Jan. 24 at Saint Joseph's...averaged 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds for the Bearcats...shot 56.9 percent from the field, which was good for third on the squad...scored a season-high 12 points in a home victory over Southern Indiana on Jan. 29...pulled down a season-best 14 rebounds in the Saint Joseph's contest...earned Academic All-GLVC honors.

BEFORE McK: Comes to McKendree after spending two seasons at Sauk Valley Community College...averaged 8.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore for the Skyhawks...shot nearly 58 percent from the field while adding 34 blocked shots...started in 28 of 33 games as a sophomore for Sauk Valley...also starred at Rochelle High School, where he averaged 14 points and eight rebounds per game as a senior...earned All-Conference honors during his senior year with the Hubs.

PERSONAL: Is the son of Ray and Val Newton.
