Hannah Dow joined the McKendree Softball coaching staff in Fall of 2021. She will serve as the pitching coach for the Bearcats.
Dow, a native of Mattoon, Ill., graduated from Mattoon High School, attended Heartland Community College and Appalachian State University and was a member of their softball teams.
While at Heartland Community College she placed 3rd in the NJCAA National Tournament in 2008. During her sophomore campaign she was the NJCAA National Tournament MVP as her team went on to win the NJCAA National Tournament in 2009. Dow also received NFCA All-American Honors and Easton NJCAA All-American Honors in 2009.
Following an outstanding career at Heartland, she transferred to Appalachian State University. While just in two seasons, Dow added her name to the record books at Appalachian State; 2nd in single season ERA and career ERA, 3rd in single season wins, 8th in career wins, and 10th in single season and career starts, as well as, complete games.
Following graduation, Dow spent a season as the volunteer pitching coach at App State, while later moving on and being the pitching coach at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida. In 2017, Dow made her way back to Mattoon and took over the Mattoon Middle School and High School softball programs as Head Coach.
Dow, resides in Belleville, Ill., and is working at Grant Middle School as a Special Education teacher.
