    Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Holly Spoo joined the McKendree University women's basketball coaching staff in September 2017. Spoo brings more than a decade of experience to the Bearcats' program.

Spoo spent the 2015-16 season as an assistant coach at Southern Illinois University Edwarsdville. She was responsible for on-court coaching and player development, working primarily with the Cougars' guards. Spoo also assisted with scouting of opponents, video breakdown and analysis, along with helping with all phases of summer basketball camps.

From 2009-14, Spoo was the co-founder, owner and director of Wisconsin Impact, a girl's youth basketball program for players in grades 4-12. Under her leadership, the program grew to include 17 teams with more than 170 players. Prior to that, Spoo was a coach for Dasher Basketball Incorporated from 2006-09.

Spoo gained her first collegiate coaching experienceat the University of Nebraska Omaha. From 1999-2004, she served the program in a variety of roles, including on-court coaching, practice plan development scouting and film breakdown. Spoo moved on to Wayne State College for the 2004-05 season before joining the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2005-06. 

As a player at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Spoo helped lead the Titans to a 31-0 record and the 1996 NCAA Division III national championship. She was a two-year team captain at Wisconsin Oshkosh and a four-year All-Conference performer. Spoo was a 1998 Kodak All-America honoree as well as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year. In 2011, Spoo was inducted into the UW-Oshkosh Athletics Hall of Fame. 

Spoo earned her bachelor's degree in education, biology and secondary education from Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1999, and her master's degree in exercise science from Nebraska Omaha in 2003.
