McKendree University women's soccer coach Tim Strange announced that Elliot Goodwin has joined the Bearcats as a graduate assistant coach.
"Elliot brings both great energy and a great level of training to our coaching staff," said Strange. "We're excited to have him help us in each facet of the game and be a substantial asset to our program."
Goodwin, a Macclesfield, England native, graduated from Cumberland University in 2017, where he was a first-team All Mid-South Conference selection during his junior and senior seasons and a second-team All-MSC selection during his sophomore season. He was recognized as an NAIA All-American honorable mention selection during his junior season as well.
In addition to collegiate play, Goodwin has had recent experience playing with St. Louis Football Club U23, a member of the USL (United Soccer League) Premier Development League.
"I am appreciative of Coach Strange having me join this highly talented program," said Goodwin. "I'm looking forward to working hard this season and maintaining the level of success the Bearcats have experienced in recent years. I'm hoping to bring something to the table that not only will help the team preserve their level of excellence, but will also help push them to the next level."
Goodwin joins the Bearcat coaching staff after working with the Saint Louis FC Academy U16 team, where he served as an assistant coach, and with the Saint Louis Scott Gallagher 2018 Pre-Academy team, where he also served as an assistant coach.
