Zach Roper joined the McKendree Water Polo program in August of 2019.
Roper, an Orland Park, Ill. native, is a 2018 graduate from Iona College where he starred on the Gaels water polo team. While at Iona, Roper was named All-Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) as a senior. He was selected as team MVP in 2015 and 2017 while serving as team captain in 2017.
Upon graduation, Roper gained valuable experience playing with the Exeter Water Polo Club of the British National Water Polo League.
Roper completed his MA Education Leadership and Management Degree from the University of Nottingham in 2019. While also studying at Nottingham, Roper competed with the university winning the 2019 BUCS Championship Division.
Before his career at Iona, Roper starred at Carl Sandburg High School where he was Sectional and Southtown All-Area player of the year. Roper was named All-State as a senior while handling duties as team captain.
