(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 14)- The McKendree University men's soccer team scored two first half goals on Thursday night to defeat Bethel College (Ind.) 2-1. The win was the Bearcat's sixth straight win.
McKendree, 9-2-2 overall (2-0-1 AMC) will host William Woods University for an American Midwest Conference game on October 16th at 7 p.m.
After a scoreless first half, the Bearcats got on the scoreboard in the 59th minute on a goal by freshman midfielder
Kavel Smith (Kingston, Jamaica) on a pass from junior defender
Mitch Fear (Southampton. England, Tauntons). McKendree took a 2-0 lead in the 70th minute on a header goal by junior defender
Aaron Streid (Granite City, Ill., Granite City) off a free kick by junior midfielder
Tom Ward (Frodhsam, England). A goal by the Pilots in the 75th minute made the score 2-1, but the Bearcats held on to win their ninth game of the season.

Tim Day (Edwardsville, Ill., Edwardsville) improved to 4-2-1 overall with the win and had one save.
