(QUINCY, Ill., Sept. 3)- The McKendree University men's soccer team gave up two goals, one in each half, on Friday night in a 2-0 loss at NCAA Division II Quincy University.

The Bearcats, now 2-2 overall, will host St. Ambrose University on Tuesday, September 7 at 6 p.m.

Quincy took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute on a goal by Grant Ellison from Greg Schaeffer and took their one goal lead into the half. Schaeffer then found Ryan Hirtz in the 76th minute of the contest to put the Bearcats down 2-0 and deal them their second loss of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Tim Day (Edwardsville, Ill., Edwardsville) fell to 1-2 overall on the season with the loss. He played 45 minutes in goal and had two saves. Junior goalkeeper Joe Sagar (Oldham, England, Hulme) also played 45 minutes in goal and had two saves.
