(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 11)—The McKendree University volleyball team will be hosting its annual “Dig Pink” Night when the Bearcats take on Lindenwood University Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Melvin Price Convocation Center.
The Bearcats will be asking for your donations to help aid in the fight against breast cancer. The donations will be forwarded directly to the American Cancer Society. Fans can make their donations at the ticket table located just inside the MPCC upon their entry to the arena. The team will also be selling commemorative “Dig Pink” t-shirts for $10 each, with the proceeds also going to the ACS. Shirts are available from size small through extra large.
In addition, McKendree will wear pink t-shirts for their game uniforms, as has become their custom on “Dig Pink” Night.
In each of the last two years, the McKendree volleyball program has raised more than $1,000 in the fight against breast cancer, which affects approximately one in three women.
McKendree is currently 6-18 on the season. The Bearcats will be at home just twice more during the 2011 season: Oct. 28-29 for the McKendree Invitational and on Senior Night, which is scheduled for Nov. 1 against Quincy University.
