BEARCATS ROLL TO WIN AT HARRIS-STOWE, 84-45, IMPROVE TO .500 IN CONFERENCE PLAY


(ST. LOUIS, Mo., February 20)-
Sophomore forward Courtney Harris (St. Louis, Mo., St. Joseph Academy) and freshman guard Brittany Willis (St. Louis, Mo., Parkway South) both recorded career-highs in an American Midwest Conference win at Harris-Stowe State University on Saturday, 84-45.

McKendree improved to 15-10 overall and 7-7 in the AMC after the victory. The Bearcats will host Williams Baptist College on Thursday, February 24 at 5:30 p.m., and will also celebrate senior night.

Harris led all players with a career-high 23 points, while Willis also recorded a career-high with 19 points. Senior guard Katie Fullerton (Coulterville, Ill., Coulterville) scored 14 points and sophomore forward Jessica Steinmetz (Wildwood, Mo., Lafayette) also scored in double-figures with 10 points.

McKendree never trailed in the contest and used an early 11-0 run to jump out in front. A jumper by Willis gave the Bearcats a 21 point lead, 54-33, with 15:39 remaining in the second half and used a 12-0 run over the last three minutes of the game to close out the 39 point win.

Lanikia Lawrence and Gwendelyn Ellis led the Hornets with 13 points a piece in the loss.
