(ST. CHARLES, Mo., September 13)- The McKendree University women's soccer team lost a close match at Lindenwood University on Tuesday night, 2-0.
The Bearcats fell to 1-4 overall and will travel to Henderson, Tenn., on Thursday, September 15th for a match against Freed-Hardeman University at 4 p.m.
The Lions took a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute on a goal by Emily WInchell off a pass from Courtney Bresnahan. The goal was the lone goal in the first half and McKendree found itself down 1-0 at the break.
The Bearcats placed multiple shots on frame in the second half, but couldn't find the back of the net to tie the game. Lindenwood scored in the 54th minute on a free kick by Christine Byrne to take a 2-0 lead and earn the win.
Freshman goalkeeper
Taylor Zerbe (St. Louis, Mo., Trinity Catholic) fell to 1-4 overall and had two saves in the loss.
