(COSTA MESA, Calif., September 8)- The McKendree University women's soccer team suffered a 6-0 loss on Thursday at Vanguard University (Calif.).
The Bearcats fell to 1-2 overall on the season and will travel to Santa Barbara, Calif., On Saturday for a match against Westmont College at 11 a.m. PST.
McKendree was outshot in the match, 30-3, with the Lions placing 19 shots on frame to the Bearcats' three.
Vanguard got on the board off a free kick in the 37th minute and led 1-0 at the break. The Lions broke the game wide open in the second half and scored goals in the 58th, 63rd, 66th, 77th, and 87th minutes to deal McKendree with the loss.
Freshman goalkeeper
Taylor Zerbe (St. Louis, Mo., Trinity Catholic) had a career-high 13 saves and fell to 1-2 overall in the loss.
