Women's Soccer Ties No. 18 William Jewell In Double Overtime 1-1

Box Score (LIBERTY, Mo., Oct. 14)- A goal by sophomore forward Natalie Crane (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) in the 74th minute tied the match 1-1, but the McKendree University women's soccer team couldn't score again and came away with a 1-1 tie at No. 18 William Jewell College on Sunday afternoon.

The Bearcats are now 7-4-2 overall and 6-4-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and will host University of Southern Indiana on Friday, October 19 at 5 p.m., before traveling to Owensboro, Ky., to face Kentucky Wesleyan College at 2:30 p.m., on Sunday, October 21.

The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute on a header goal by Justine Dover. William Jewell held all the offensive advantage in the period, outshooting McKendree, 6-2, in the first half.

It was a different story in the second half, with the Bearcats outshooting the hosts, 10-4. Crane tied the match in 74th minute from 20 yards out on the left wing on an assist by junior midfielder Tara Kennedy (Waterloo, Ill./Gibault Catholic).

McKendree outshot the Cardinals, 6-3, after regulation, but couldn't find the back of the net for a win. The Bearcats placed eight of its 18 shots on goal in the match.

Junior goalkeeper Maggie Dudas (St. Peters, Mo./Ft. Zumwalt South), 7-4-2 overall, grabbed seven saves in the tie.
