The McKendree University men's soccer team is hoping to build off its upset win last Sunday with two matches this weekend.
The Bearcats host University of Southern Indiana on Friday at 7:30 p.m., before traveling to Owensboro, Ky., on Sunday for a Noon matchup at Kentucky Wesleyan College.
SCOUTING THE SCREAMING EAGLES: University of Southern Indiana enters the weekend with an overall record of 8-5 with a 7-4 mark in the GLVC. The Screaming Eagles lost 2-1 at Drury last Friday, but did not play its game on Sunday at Missouri S&T due to inclement weather. Southern Indiana leads the all-time series, 3-2-1, and won the previous meeting between the two teams, 3-0, on October 20, 2002.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS: Kentucky Wesleyan College enters the weekend with an overall record of 0-14 and 0-12 in the GLVC. The Panthers lost, 4-0, at Missouri S&T last Friday, before dropping Sunday's match, 7-0, at Drury. McKendree won the only previous meeting between the two teams, 4-3, back on September 10, 1995.
MILESTONE WATCH: Junior midfielder
Kavel Smith (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George’s College) needs one more game-winning goal to move into a tie for seventh place all-time at McKendree. He currently has five in his McKendree career.
