The McKendree University men's soccer team remains in the hunt for the final spot in the GLVC Tournament.
The Bearcats host Bellarmine University tonight in the final regular season GLVC contest for both teams. The Knights enter the contest with a 9-4-3 record overall and an 8-3-3 record in the GLVC.
SENIOR NIGHT 2012: Prior to tonights match, we will honor three seniors for their contributions to the program during their career. We would like to congratulate
Mark Kyszka (Lake in the Hills, Ill./H.D. Jacobs),
Nick Watt (Glasgow, Scotland/Shawlands), and
Mike Williams (Headcorn, England/Norton Knatchbull) for all their accomplishments and wish them the best of luck in the future.
GLVC PLAYOFF PICTURE: McKendree does have a chance to qualify for the GLVC tournament entering today. If Lewis University wins or ties, Lewis gets in. If Lewis loses, Missouri S&T loses or ties, and McKendree wins, McKendree is in. If Missouri S&T wins and Lewis loses, Missouri S&T gets in regardless of a win or loss by McKendree.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS: Bellarmine University enters tonights contest with an overall record of 9-4-3 and an 8-3-3 mark in the GLVC. The Knights have won their previous two games and tonights match is the first meeting all-time between the two schools.
MILESTONE WATCH: Junior midfielder
Kavel Smith (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George’s College) needs one more game-winning goal to move into a tie for seventh place all-time atMcKendree. He currently has five in his McKendree career.
