Men's Soccer Looks To Keep Momentum Rolling At Leemon Field This Weekend

The McKendree University men's soccer team will host two matches this weekend at Leemon Field.

The Bearcats host Missouri S&T tonight at 7:30 p.m., for their first match of the weekend. The Miners enter tonights game with an overall record of 6-3 and 5-2 GLVC.

On Sunday, McKendree welcomes No. 8 Drury University to Leemon Field. The Panthers enter the weekend with an overall record of 8-1-1 and 6-1-1 in the GLVC.

BOUNCING BACK: McKendree enters the weekend on a three-game winning streak after defeating Lewis, 2-1, and Wisconsin-Parkside, 4-1, on the road last weekend.

LEAD THE WAY: The Bearcats are a perfect 5-0 this season in games they led at the half. They are also 6-0 when they score first this season.

SMITH BREAKS INTO CAREER TOP 10 LIST: Junior midfielder Kavel Smith (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George’s College) recently broke into McKendree's all-time game-winning goal list. His five career game-winning goals are tied for ninth all-time.

SCOUTING THE MINERS: Missouri S&T enters the weekend with a overall record of 6-3 overall and 5-2 in the GLVC. The Miners split last weekend, dropping a 1-0 match against University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, before bouncing back with a 2-0 win over Maryville on Sunday.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS: Drury enters the weekend riding a seven-game unbeaten streak dating back to a 1-0 loss at Lewis UNiversity on Sep. 7. The Panthers are 8-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the GLVC entering the weekend, and moved up 11 sports to No. 8 in this weeks NSCAA Dvision II Men's Soccer Poll.
