Women's Soccer Set To Host Two Home GLVC Contests This Weekend

The McKendree University women's soccer team returns to Leemon Field this weekend for a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference contests.

The Bearcats open the weekend at 5 p.m., tonight with a contest against Missouri S&T. The Lady Miners enter the contest with a record of 5-5 overall and 3-5 in the GLVC. It is the first meeting all-time between the two schools in women's soccer.

On Sunday, McKendree hosts Drury University at Noon. The Panthers have an overall record of 6-3-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the GLVC heading into the weekend. The Bearcats are 0-5 all-time against Drury.

SCOUTING THE LADY MINERS: Missouri S&T enters the weekend with an overall record of 5-5 overall and 3-5 in the GLVC. The Lady Miners were edged by Missouri-St. Louis, 1-0, on Friday, but defeated Maryville 1-0 on Sunday to split the weekend. It is the first meeting all-time  between McKendree and Missouri S&T.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS: Drury enters the weekend with an overall record of 6-3-1 and 4-3-1 in the GLVC after tying Maryville, 0-0, last Friday, and defeating Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday, 5-3. Drury is a perfect 5-0 against McKendree all-time in women's soccer.

MILESTONE WATCH: Junior forward Amy Cassiday (Rochester, Ill./Rochester) is currently two points and two goals shy of moving up in the school record books. Cassiday is two points shy of tying Jamie Dienell in ninth place on the career points list, and two goals shy of tying Sara Kelemetc in sixth place in career goals scored.
