Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 9)- The McKendree University men's soccer team scored a goal in the 88th minute to force overtime, but gave up a goal in the 97th minute on Sunday to lose to No. 8 Drury University, 2-1.
The Bearcats fall to 7-5 overall and 5-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with the loss. McKendree will hit the road next weekend to face No. 16 Rockhurst University on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m., in Kansas City, Mo., before traveling to Liberty, Mo., on Sunday, Oct. 14 to face William Jewell College at 2:30 p.m.
Drury controlled the majority of the first half, outshooting the Bearcats, 15-5, in the opening period. The Panthers took the lead in the 30th minute on a goal by Jack Mathis, and headed into the locker room at the break 1-0.
The roles were reversed in the second half, with McKendree limiting Drury to only two shots in the period. The Bearcats were awarded a penalty kick midway thorugh the half, but senior midfielder
Mike Williams (Headcorn, England/Norton Knatchbull)' chance hit the crossbar and the score remained 1-0.

Kavel Smith (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George’s College) on the left side of the box off of a free kick to tie the game, 1-1, and send it to overtime.
The Panthers found an opportunity in the 97th minute and Brendan Langford scored off a pass from Frederik Jensen to end the game, 2-1.
Freshman goalkeeper
Matt Derrington (St. Louis, Mo./Trinity Catholic) fell to 3-1 overall with the loss, while grabbing one save.
