Men's Soccer Heads East For Two GLVC Contests This Weekend

The McKendree University men's soccer team will begin a four-game road trip this weekend.

The Bearcats travel to play Saint Joseph's College on Friday, Oct. 11, in Rensselaer, Ind., at 7:30 p.m. The Pumas are currently 2-8-1 overall and 1-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

On Sunday, Oct. 13, McKendree travels to play University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Ind., at 2:30 p.m. EST. The Greyhounds are currently 6-2-2 overall and 5-1-2 in the GLVC.

SCOUTING THE PUMAS: Saint Joseph's College enters the weekend with a record of 2-8-1 overall and 1-7 in the GLVC. The Pumas have lost five-straight, including 3-1 and 3-2 losses to Illinois-Springfield and Southern Indiana last weekend, respectively, before dropping a 1-0 decision to Cedarville University on Tuesday. Forward Michael Lipton leads Saint Joseph's with four goals and an assist this season. McKendree won the only previous meeting between the two programs last season, 3-1, on Sep. 23.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS: University of Indianapolis enters the weekend with an overall mark of 6-2-2 and a 5-1-2 record in the GLVC. The Greyhounds swept its games last weekend, defeating Southern Indiana, 2-0, on Friday before defeatingIllinois-Springfield, 3-1, on Sunday. Junior forward Ngwese Ebangwese leads Indianapolis with five goals and three assists this season. The Greyhounds won the only previous meeting between the two schools last season, 5-0, on Sep. 21.

ARMISTEAD CRACKS THE TOP 10: Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) recently moved into the top 10 in the McKendree record books. Armistead is tied for ninth place with seven career wins in goal, and is ranked eighth with 97 career saves.
