Box Score (RENSSALAER, Ind., Oct. 11)- A goal by sophomore forward Alex Ridsdale (Nelson, New Zealand/Mount Albert) off a free kick in the 54th minute propelled the McKendree University men's soccer team to its first Great Lakes Valley Conference win of the season at Saint Joseph's College on Friday.

The Bearcats improved to 3-7-1 overall and 1-7-1 in the GLVC with the win, and will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., on Sunday, Oct. 11, to face University of Indianapolis at 2:30 p.m. EST.

The Pumas got on the board first in the 19th minute off a free kick goal by Michael Lipton to take a 1-0 lead.

Junior forward C.J. Cerna (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) evened the score in the 49th minute with a goal to the right side off an assist from sophomore midfielder Liam Robley (Lazonby, Cumbria, England/Queen Elizabeth Grammar School) to make the score 1-1.

Ridsdale put McKendree in front, 2-1, in the 54th minute off a free kick from 30 yards out, and the Bearcat defense held for the remainder of the game to earn the victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) improved to 3-6-1 overall and had two saves in the win.
