Box Score (INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Oct. 13)- The McKendree University men's soccer team scored in 17 seconds, but gave up two late goals to fall 3-1 at University of Indianapolis on Sunday.
The Bearcats fall to 3-8-1 overall and 1-8-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and will travel to Quincy, Ill., to face Quincy University on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Sophomore
Joshua Fawssett (Lewes, Sussex, England/Sussex Downs College) wasted little time getting McKendree on the scoreboard, scoring 17-seconds into the game to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead.
Indianapolis tied the game at the 13 minute mark on a goal by Ngwese Ebangwese, and the game remained tied at the half.
The game appeared to be headed to overtime, but the Greyhounds scored goals in the 78th and 80th minutes to jump out to a 3-1 lead with under 10 minutes to play. The Bearcats had one shot down the strecth but it went wide.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) had five saves and fell to 3-7-1 overall on the season with the loss.
