The McKendree University men's soccer team will play its last two road games this weekend, before returning to end the season on a three-game homestand.
The Bearcats travel to Quincy, Ill., on Friday to face Quincy University at 7:30 p.m. The Hawks are currently 9-4 overall and 8-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
McKendree then travels to Kirksville, Mo., on Sunday, Oct. 20 to face Truman State University at 2:30 p.m. The Bulldogs are 6-4-2 overall and 4-4-2 in the GLVC.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS: Quincy University enters the weekend with an overall record of 9-4 and an 8-2 record in the GLVC. The Hawks swept its games last weekend, upsetting No. 25 Drury on Friday, 2-1, before earning a 3-0 win over Missouri S&T on Sunday. Junior forward Jordan Roberts leads Quincy with eight goals and two assists this season. McKendree trails the all-time series with the Hawks, 4-7-1.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS: Truman State University enters the weekend with an overall record of 6-4-2 and a 4-4-2 mark in the GLVC. The Bulldogs went 0-1-1 last weekend, playing Missouri S&T to a scoreless draw on Friday, before dropping a double-overtime loss to No. 25 Drury, 2-1, on Sunday. Sophomore midfielder Nick Tolmais leads Truman State with six goals and two assists this season. Sunday is the first meeting all-time between the two programs.
ARMISTEAD MOVES UP IN TOP 10: Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) recently moved into the top 10 in the McKendree record books. Armistead is ranked sixth all-time with a 1.63 goals-against average, is tied for eighth place with eight career wins in goal, and is ranked seventh with 104 career saves.
