Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 25)- The McKendree University men's soccer team dropped its eighth one-goal decision of the season on Friday night in a 1-0 loss to University of Missouri-St. Louis.

The Bearcats fall to 3-11-1 overall and 1-11-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with the loss and will host Maryville University on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2:30 p.m.

The Tritons struck early, scoring on a header goal by Matt Burrus off an assist by Tyler Collico in the seventh minute to take a 1-0 lead.

McKendree was inches away from tying the game in the 17th minute when a header from junior defender Connor Cassidy (Glasgow, Scotland/St. Andrews) went off the crossbar and back onto the field of play. The Bearcats only placed one shot on goal in the first half, but couldn't get it past the UMSL goalkeeper.

McKendree outshot the Tritons, 4-2, in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net to fall 1-0.

Sophomore goalkeeper Matt Derrington (St. Louis, Mo./Trinity Catholic) had three saves in the loss and fell to 0-4 on the season.
