(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 1)- The McKendree University women's wrestling team dropped its season opener to No. 8 Missouri Baptist University on Friday 42-4.

The Bearcats fall to 8-5 overall and will return to the mat on Friday, Nov. 8 at 3:30 p.m., when they host Missouri Valley College.

The visiting Spartans jumped out to a quick lead and McKendree couldn't flip the momentum in the dual. McKendree's lone victory on the night came at 143 pounds by freshman Olivia Seppinni (Rocklin, Calif./Rocklin) in a decision win over Forrest Molinari, 8-3.

The Bearcat's other team point came in a close 7-6 decision loss by freshman Andrea Ruiz (Covina, Calif./Northview) to Karissa Avalonne at 155 pounds.
