Box Score (LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sep. 13)- The McKendree University men's soccer team fell 3-0 in its conference opener on Friday night  at Bellarmine University.

The Bearcats fall to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the GLVC with the loss, and will host University of Southern Indiana on Sunday, Sep. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

The Knights scored the only goal of the first half in the 14th minute on a free kick by Matt Odem that bounced off the crossbar into the goal to make the score 1-0.

McKendree picked up the intensity in the second half and placed six of their 10 shots on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Odem struck again off a free kick in the 73rd minute to increase the Bellarmine lead to 2-0, and the Knights made the score 3-0 in the 77th minute on a goal by Dan Schiavi.

Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) fell to 2-1 overall with the loss and had three saves.
