Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 15)- The McKendree University men's soccer team held an early 1-0 lead, but gave up a late goal and dropped a 3-2 decision to University of Southern Indiana on Sunday.
The Bearcats fall to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with the loss, and will host William Jewell College on Friday, Sep. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
McKendree took a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute on a goal by sophomore forward

The Bearcats held onto the lead until the Eagles tied it in the 83rd minute on goal by Caleb Mathers. USI extended its lead to 2-1 in the 87th minute on a goal by Stephen Tuma, but McKendree tied the game in the 89th minute on a header by junior midfielder
Cody Fritsche (High Ridge, Mo./Lutheran South) to send it to overtime.
The game appeared to be headed to a second overtime, but a goal by Southern Indiana's Corey Fundenberger off a pass by Kevin Minor in the 95th minute ended the game 3-2.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) had eight saves in the loss and fell to 2-2 overall on the season.
