The McKendree University men's soccer team will host its second weekend of conference soccer this weekend, and welcomes their first ranked opponent of the season to town on Sunday.
The Bearcats host William Jewell College on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Cardinals enter the weekend with an overall record of 1-3 and an 0-2 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
McKendree will host No. 10 Rockhurst University on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The Hawks are currently 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the GLVC..
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS: William Jewell is currently 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the GLVC this season. The Cardinals were swept in their conference opening games last weekend, losing, 1-0, to Drury on Friday, before dropping a 2-1 decision at Missouri S&T on Sunday. Four players have found the back of the net this season for William Jewell. McKendree leads the all-time series against the Cardinals, 5-1, dating back to the 1999 season.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS: Rockhurst enters the weekend ranked No. 10 in the latest NSCAA Division II ranking with an overall record of 3-1 and a 2-0 mark in the GLVC. The Hawks posted two shutouts on its conference opening weekend, blanking Missouri S&T, 2-0, before edging Drury, 1-0, on Sunday. Three players have scored two goals for Rockhurst this season. Rockhurst leads the all-time series between the two schools, 5-1.
