Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 20)- The McKendree University men's soccer team gave up an early goal and couldn't recover on Friday night in a 1-0 loss to William Jewell College.

The Bearcats fall to 2-3 overall and 0-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will host No. 10 Rockhurst University on Sunday, Sep. 22 at 2:30 p.m.

The Cardinals scored in the 10th minute on a goal by Drew Dempsey to take an early 1-0 lead. McKendree had its chances in the contest, outshooting William Jewell, 14-10, but couldn't get anything past Cardinal keeper Shane Van Hooser to even the score.

Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) fell to 2-3 overall, but had five saves in the loss.
