Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 22)- The McKendree University men's soccer team led for 40 minutes on Sunday, but gave up two late goals to fall to No. 10 Rockhurst University 2-1.

The Bearcats fall to 2-4 overall and 0-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will travel to Springfield, Mo., to play Drury University on Friday, Sep. 27 at 11 a.m.

Despite being outshot, 11-3, in the first half, McKendree took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute on a goal by Joshua Fawssett (Lewes, Sussex, England/Sussex Downs College).

The Bearcats appeared to be in control late in the contest, until Rockhurst tied the game in the 72nd minute on a goal by Mark Magee.

The Hawks broke the tie open in the 89th minute on a goal by Michael Panarisi to take 2-1 lead and held on to win.

Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) fell to 2-4 overall with the loss and had nine saves.
