Box Score (ROLLA, Mo., Sep. 29)- The McKendree University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie in double overtime at Missouri S&T on Sunday.
The Bearcats are now 2-5-1 overall and 0-5-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with the tie, and will host University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday, Oct. 4, for a GLVC contests at 7:30 p.m.
The Miners got on the board late in the first half, scoring on a shot by Ryan Lawhead in the 44th minute to take a 1-0 lead into the half.
McKendree tied the game in the 69th minute on a converted penalty kick by sophomore midfielder
Liam Robley (Lazonby, Cumbria, England/Queen Elizabeth Grammar School) for his third goal of the season.
The Bearcats placed three shots on goal in the remainder of the game, but couldn't find the back of the net to play to the tie.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) had eight saves and is now 2-5-1 overall on the season.
