Box Score (SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Oct. 29)- The McKendree University men's soccer team had its season come to a close on Wednesday night in a 1-0 loss in overtime at University of Illinois Springfield.

The Bearcats end the season with an overall record of 5-10-2 and a 5-9-1 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The game was evenly matched through regulation, with McKendree being edged 11-8 in shots, but both teams were unable to capitalize and the game was headed for overtime.

The Prairie Stars took the only shot of the overtime from the top of a crowded penalty box and scored to the right upper 90 to end the game in the 95th minute.

Senior midfielder Kavel Smith (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George’s College) and freshman forward Andrew Ducharme (Edwardsville, Ill./Triad High School) both led the Bearcats with two shots on goal a piece.

Junior goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) fell to 5-9-2 overall and had seven saves in the loss.
