(ROMEOVILLE, Ill., Oct. 3)- The McKendree University men's soccer team tied Lewis University, 0-0, in double overtime on Friday.

The Bearcats are now 2-5-2 overall and 2-4-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and will travel to Somers, WIs., on SUnday, Oct. 5 to face University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 12 p.m.

The Flyers outshot McKendree 22-10 in the contest, but only placed three shots on goal in the contest. Junior goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) was solid in goal and turned away all three of Lewis' shot opportunities, while improving to 2-4-2 this season. Senior forward C.J. Cerna (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) and freshman forward Boris Kiesse-Makangu (Beaumont Sur Oise, France/Lycee Evariste Galois) each had a shot on goal for the Bearcats in the tie.
