(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 9)—The McKendree University hockey team closed out the first portion of its 2014-15 season Saturday evening with a 4-0 loss at Robert Morris University-Peoria.
 
The host Eagles jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and never looked back to complete the weekend sweep of the Bearcats. McKendree slips to 7-10-3 on the season and will return to action Jan. 17 at the University of Arkansas.
 
McKendree was defeated in the contest despite holding a 32-15 edge in shots on goal against Robert Morris-Peoria. Freshman Chris Stier (Belleville, IL/Belleville West) came on in a relief role midway through the first period and made nine saves on the night for the Bearcats.
