Box Score 2 (LEBANON, Ill., March 20)- The McKendree University softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon to No. 13 University of Missouri-St. Louis.
The Bearcats fall to 7-10 overall and 2-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will host University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, March 22 for a conference doubleheader at Noon.
McKendree trailed 5-0 in the bottom of the third inning of game one, before scoring three runs in the inning to cut the deficit to 5-3. The Bearcats scored two runs on an error by the Triton rightfielder and added another on a single by junior designated player

UMSL responded with two runs in the fourth inning and another in the fifth, but the Bearcats got a leadoff homer by sophomore
Kaiti Bowen (Elliott, Ill./Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley) in the bottom of the fifth to come within 8-4, but the Tritons plated three addidtional runs in the sixth to jump out to an 11-4 lead.
Bowen led McKendree with two hits, including a double and a home run, while junior pitcher
Kelsie Stoszkus (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) fell to 1-2 overall with the loss.
The Bearcats trailed 5-0 in the sixth inning, and broke up UMSL pitcher Brittni Chapman's perfect game when sophomore catcher
Marla Schulte (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) reached on an error and freshman second baseman
Jamie Doggendorf (Dittmer, Mo./Northwest) doubled to right-centerfield to put McKendree on the board.
Junior pitcher
Susan Goetze (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) fell to 3-3 on the season with the loss nd had five strikeouts.
