Women's Lacrosse Edged 15-13 At Findlay

Box Score (FINDLAY, Ohio, March 21)- The McKendree University women's lacrosse team lost a narrow decision at University of Findlay on Saturday 15-13.

The Bearcats fall to 2-2 overall and will travel to Painesville, Ohio on Sunday, march 22 to play Lake Erie College at 12 p.m. EST.

Freshman midfielder Morgan Cremen (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) led all players with five goals, while freshman attacker Hannah Schneider (Ellisville, Mo./Lafayette) had three goals and an assist. Sophomore midfielder Shirley Boland (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) added two goals, and sophomore attackers Rianne Holzmeyer (Hazelwood, Mo./Hazelwood West) and Krystin Major (Arnold, Md./Indian Creek), and freshman midfielder Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) each tallied one goal. Major, Lelo and freshman midfielder Ellen Kilkenny (Manchester, Mo./Parkway South) all also had an assist, while Kilkenny also led all players with five ground balls.

Sophomore goalie Kelly Eastman (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) fell to 1-1 overall in the cage and had four saves, while freshman Amy Porta (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) tallied one save in the final 23:40 of the game.

Trailing 4-3 with just under 23 minutes to play in the first half, the Bearcats jumped out to a 6-4 lead after unanswered goals from Cremen, Boland, and Holzmeyer. The Oilers answered with three of their own to regain the lead, 7-6, but McKendree battled back to tie the game, 8-8, on a goal by Schneider with 33-seconds left until the half. Findlay struck again with 18-seconds left in the first half and the Bearcats went into the half facing a 9-8 deficit.

The Oilers scored the first two goals of the second half to extend its lead to 11-8, but McKendree scored four-straight to take a 12-11 lead with just over 17 minutes to play. The Oilers went on to outscore the Bearcats 4-1 in the final 16:30 of the game to earn the win.

Kyra Bradley led Findlay with five goals in the contest.
