Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 28)- The McKendree University men's soccer team exploded for four goals on Sunday in a 4-0 win on Sunday over Saint Joseph's College.

The Bearcats improve to 2-5-1 overall and 2-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will travel to Romeoville, Ill., to face Lewis University on Friday, Oct. 3 at 5 p.m.

The game was scoreless until the 39th minute when senior defender Joe Hilderbrand (St. Louis, Mo./Vianney) hit a ball to sophomore defender Callum Kiddell (Auckland, New Zealand/Mount Albert Grammar School) just outside the box, and he found freshman forward Boris Kiesse-Makangu (Beaumont Sur Oise, France/Lycee Evariste Galois) for the first goal of the game. McKendree wasted little time in extending the lead to 2-0 just before the half. Hilderbrand hit a long pass from midfield to sophomore midfielder Seth Keomanivane (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) in the box who chipped a ball over the charging Puma goalkeeper in the 44th minute.

The Bearcats got their third goal of the game in the 62nd minute when Kiddell scored off a pass from senior forward C.J. Cerna (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville). McKendree's fourth and final goal of the game came on a successful penalty kick try from Hilderbrand in the 69th minute.

Junior goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) improved to 2-4-1 overall and had one save in the victory, while also posting his second shutout of the season.
