Women's Soccer Plays Indianapolis To 1-1 Draw In Double Overtime

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Oct. 11)- The McKendree University women's soccer team scored early in the first half, but tied University of Indianapolis 1-1 in double overtime on Sunday.

The Bearcats are now 6-4-3 overall and 5-3-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and will host University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m., in a conference matchup.

McKendree had the offensive advantage in the first half and outshot the hosts 9-5 in the opening period. Junior Danielle Hareb (Flatbush, New Zealand/Mount Albert) scored an unassisted goal in the 18th minute to put the Bearcats in front 1-0. The Greyhounds tied the game, 1-1, shortly after the half in the 48th minute, and neither team could break open the tie through the remainder of regulation. Both teams only took one shot between the two overtime periods and both were saved to end the game in a 1-1 draw.
