(LEBANON, Ill.,Oct. 16)- A goal by sophomore Aubrey Disseler (Quincy, Ill./Quincy Senior High School) in the 88th minute led the McKendree University men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday.

The Bearcats improve to 5-7 overall and 5-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will host Maryville University on Sunday, October 18 in a GLVC match at 2:30 p.m.

McKendree dominated offensively in the first half, outshooting the Tritons 16-2 in the opening period, but were unable to score. The game appeared to be headed for overtime, but Disseler scored off a long pass from senior David Cole (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) that was deflected by sophomore Andrew Ducharme (Edwardsville, Ill./Triad High School) in the 88th minute to take a 1-0 lead and the eventual win.

Senior goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) improved to 5-7 overall and had six saves in the shutout win.
