(QUINCY, Ill., Oct. 23)- The McKendree University women's soccer team had its upset bid spoiled in the 87th minute on Friday night at No. 16 Quincy University in a 1-0 loss.

The Bearcats fall to 7-6-3 overall and 6-5-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference, and will travel to Kirksville, Mo., to face Truman State University on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2:30 p.m.

McKendree was the aggressor in the first half and took twice as many shots as the Hawks, 10-5, while also placing three shots on frame in the opening period. The match was scoreless and appeared to be headed to overtime in the final five minutes, but Quincy scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 87th minute to deal McKendree the loss.

Senior goalkeeper Taylor Zerbe (St. Louis, Mo./Trinity Catholic) fell to 7-6-3 overall on the season and had seven saves in the loss.
