(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., Oct. 25)- The McKendree University women's wrestling team finished as runner-up in the gold bracket at the Cliff Keen Women's Duals on Oct. 23-24 at Oklahoma City University.
The Bearcats ended pool competition on Friday with a 4-1 record. McKendree started the day with a 42-2 win over Missouri Valley College, before earning a 34-11 win over University of the Cumberlands. The Bearcats defeated both Wayland Baptist University and Ottawa University in its next two matches, 46-1, before losing its only match of the day to Simon Fraser University, 28-16.
McKendree qualified for the gold bracket on Saturday and defeated Lindenwood University, 27-15, to advance to the championship match. The Bearcats faced Simon Fraser again in the final, but lost 30-14 to finish as runner-up.
McKendree is now 9-5 in dual competition this season, and will travel to Marietta, Ga., on Nov. 6 for a dual at Life University at 7 p.m.
