(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Feb. 6)- The No. 11 McKendree University wrestling team won its fourth-straight dual match on Friday in a 32-10 win at University of Indianapolis.

The Bearcats improved to 13-4 overall and will compete at the Greyhound Open on Saturday, Feb. 6 in Indianapolis, Ind.

McKendree trailed 7-0 early after losing the first two matches, but No. 7 ranked freshman Darren Wynn (Champaign, Ill., Centennial) put the Bearcats on the board after pinning Angelo Robles in 4:41 at 141 pounds to cut the deficit to 7-6. A loss at 149 pounds extended the Greyhounds lead to 10-6, but McKendree won the final six matches to earn the win.

Senior Josh Ballard (Troy, Ill., Triad) earned a 14-3 major decision at 157 pounds over Barry McGinley to tie up the dual, 10-10, and No. 4 ranked senior Nick Haferkamp (Lincoln, Ill., Lincoln Community) followed with a 14-3 major decision over Shelden Struble at 165 pounds to take a 14-10 lead. Senior Luis Alba (Kissimmee, Fla., Cypress Creek) earned a forfeit win at 174 pounds, and senior John Vogt (Festus, Mo., Ste. Genevieve) followed with a pinfall win over Luke Kriech in 4:14 to extend the lead Bearcat lead to 26-10. No. 2 senior Julian Smith (Florissant, Mo., Hazelwood Central) defeated Brian Wagner, 4-2, at 197 pounds, and senior Ross Janney (Daleville, Ind., Yorktown) closed out the victory with a 6-0 win over Brian Snyder at heavyweight.
