Box Score (SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Feb. 7)- The McKendree University women's basketball team had its upset bid at No. 21 Drury University come up short on Saturday in a 74-65 loss.
The Bearcats fall to 2-19 overall and 1-11 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and will begin a five-game homestand on Thursday, Feb. 12 when they host Rockhurst University at 5:30 p.m.

Caty Ponce (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) and sophomore forward
Gabrielle Williams (Minooka, Ill./Plainfield East) led McKendree with 11 points each.
Both teams traded leads in the opening eight minutes of the first half, until the host Lady Panthers slowly extended their lead out to 28-18 with 4:45 left before the half. A layup by sophomore guard
Amber Alexander (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) on the next possession cut the deficit down to eight, but would trail 39-27 at the break. The Lady Panthers held their largest lead, 55-35, with 13:14 left, but McKendree outscored Drury, 16-5, over the next five minutes to cut the lead down to 60-51 with 8:05 left in the game. Kelsee Ennis (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) cut the score to 68-61 with 2:15 left, but Drury was perfect from the free throw line down the stretch to hold on for the win.
