Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., March 11)—The McKendree University men's volleyball team continued its winning ways on Wednesday with a three-set sweep Wednesday night at home against the University of Charleston. The Bearcats defeated the Golden Eagles by scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 28-26.
McKendree extended its win streak to five consecutive matches thanks to Wednesday's victory. The Bearcats have reached double figures in the win column for the first time in program history, moving to 10-12 on the year. McKendree will have a few days off before returning to action Monday with a non-conference tilt at Missouri Baptist University. First serve is set for 7 p.m. in St. Louis.

Brendan Schmidt (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) had a big night for McKendree with a match-high 10 kills along with six assisted blocks. Sophomore right-side hitter
Maalik Walker (Shorewood, IL/Minooka) helped out with eight attacks and a team-best six digs. Freshman setter
Pasquale Fiduccia (Hanover Park, IL/Glenbard North) handed out a match-high 30 assists for the Bearcats while freshman opposite
Jared Wilcox (Warrenville, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville South) chipped in with five kills and a pair of service aces in the win.
In the first set, McKendree raced to a 12-4 lead and maintained its lead to grab the early lead against Charleston. The Bearcats took a slight lead in the opening moments of the second set and never trailed the remainder of the contest to build a two-set lead over the Golden Eagles. McKendree was in front at 10-9 before scoring three straight points to surge out to a 13-9 advantage. Charleston battled back to pull within 14-13 before the Bearcats took control, scoring 11 of the final 13 points of the set.
There were 13 ties and three lead changes in the third set. Charleston clawed its way to a 17-15 advantage when McKendree used a 7-1 run to pull ahead at 22-18. After the teams traded points, the Golden Eagles ripped off five consecutive points to pull within the brink of victory at 24-23. The Bearcats fought off set point with a kill from Schmidt before Charleston answered once again to take a 25-24 lead. McKendree regained its momentum and scored four of the final five points to rally for the win and complete the sweep.
Rajahl Moxey led a balanced attack for Charleston (3-16) with nine kills, while Ryan Santos added eight attacks. Anthony Rivera handed out 23 assists in the match for the Golden Eagles.
