Box Score (ST. LOUIS, Mo., March 16)—The McKendree University men's volleyball team saw its season-high five-match win streak come to an end Monday evening with a four-set loss in non-conference play at Missouri Baptist University. The host Spartans won by scores of 25-27, 25-18, 25-17 and 25-15.
 
McKendree moves to 10-13 overall with the loss. The Bearcats will return home on Thursday to host the No. 3-ranked team in the nation, Lewis University, in a Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association battle. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the Harry M. Statham Sports Center.
 
Against Missouri Baptist, freshman opposite was the only McKendree player to reach double figures in kills with 14. Wilcox also handled a team-leading five digs against the Spartans. Freshman setter Pasquale Fiduccia (Hanover Park, IL/Glenbard North) added 23 assists, while freshman middle blocker Brendan Schmidt (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) was in on five assisted blocks to show the way up front for the Bearcats.
 
In the first set, McKendree hit .304 in outlasting Missouri Baptist to take an early lead. Missouri Baptist (14-5) responded by hitting .346 and .579 in the next two sets to grab a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth set. The Spartans then took control in the fourth set to pull away and gain a season split in the series between the two programs in 2015. McKendree defeated Missouri Baptist in four set back on Jan. 27 in Lebanon.
 
Mico Janicjevic put down a match-high 21 kills to lead Missouri Baptist, while Chris Flood added 18 attacks. Kyle Foley dished out a match-high 45 assists for the Spartans.
