Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., March 21)- The McKendree University women's lacrosse team had its six-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday in a 15-2 loss to No. 6 Florida Southern College.
The Bearcats are now 6-1 overall and will host Adams State University (Colo.) on Tuesday, March 24 at 4 p.m.
Freshmen
Mia Fiore (Eureka, Mo./Eureka High School) and
Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) both had goals for McKendree, while Salthouse also tallied an assist. Sophomore
Franchesca Delrosario (Seaford, Del./Sussex Technical) had a team-high four ground balls, while sophomore
Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) caused a team-high three turnovers. Sophomore goalie
Amy Porta (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) fell to 6-1 on the season and had 14 saves on the day.
The Bearcats tied the game, 1-1, 6:35 into the contest, but were unable to gain any momentum offensively to keep things within reach. McKendree's second goal came with 11:06 left in the game to make the score 12-2, but the Mocs' added three goals before the final horn to end the game 15-2.
